Migrant worker killed in freak accident – Times of India

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 19-year-old migrant labourer hailing from Assam was killed in a freak accident that occurred at Kudappanakunnu under Peroorkada police station limits on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Nandu Biswas. A mini-truck rammed into a wall that in turn fell over Biswas.
According to the police, the accident occurred around 12.30pm on a construction site that was located opposite to the Indian Oil fuel station at Kudappanakkunnu. There was a curve on the road here and the truck, which was going from Kudappanakkunnu to Peroorkada, lost control while negotiating this curve and rammed into the periphery wall of the construction site. Behind the wall, Biswas and four other labourers were engaged in setting up accommodation facility for the labourers. .

He was painting the wall when the lorry rammed into it from the other side. Even though he was rushed to the hospital, his life could not be saved. The other labourers escaped unhurt.
The police have registered a case against the truck driver. He told the police that he lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid collision with a two-wheeler that was moving at a dangerous speed. .
