Port Adelaide star Ollie Wines says he's not expecting the injury suffered as a result of off-season skiing to have an impact on his captaincy hopes. Wines, who currently has his arm in a sling, as a result of a shoulder injury sustained near the Murray River state of Mannum on Australia Day, said he would be more cautious in the lead-up to a season in future. "Perhaps being close to the start of the season wasn’t a time for me to be skiing, " Wines told reporters. "It is a passion of mine and I do my best to decrease any risk. It was a freak accident." Wines is arguably Port Adelaide's most important player following the trade of Chad Wingard (AAP) The 24-year-old was heavily criticised following the incident, particularly by club legend Kane Cornes, but he thanked Port Adelaide for its support. "Our club is incredibly caring and they have been great for me, " he said. "No one is more disappointed than me and I can understand the frustration from our fans and I look forward to getting back into things.
