Girl survives freak accident on flyover in Ahmedabad – Times of India

AHMEDABAD: A young girl on Wednesday night miraculously survived a freak accident on the Iskcon flyover. People saw a two-wheeler come crashing down from the bridge between 9.30pm and 10pm and were sure the rider will not survive. But they found the rider, a girl, had fallen on the bridge after a car hit the two-wheeler while the scooter was flung off the bridge.
“After being hit by the car, the two wheeler came crashing down the bridge minus the girl who had got dislodged due to the impact and had fallen on the flyover road. She was sent to Asarwa Civil Hospital for injuries which were not serious in nature, ” said PSI of Sarkhej-Gandhinagar-2 traffic police station N Dhrangu. “In fact, she did not have any fracture when 108 medicos checked her after the accident, ” he added.
Cops said that the Jahanvi Gajjar, a 22-year old girl working in a private firm near Pakwan Crossroads in Bodakdev area, was going home to Ghodasar. .



“While on the flyover, the tyre of a car behind her burst and it went off the track colliding with Jahanvi's scooter. Due to the impact, Jahanvi got dislodged from the scooter and fell on the road while the two wheeler went a few meters ahead, hit the bridge railings and went flying down, ” said a traffic cop.
On seeing the crushed scooter, even traffic cops thought the rider will be grievously hurt. “The girl however was miraculously saved and has suffered minor injuries. Four persons in the car which caused the accident are also safe. .
