Shrewsbury Town face anxious wait on results of James Bolton scan –

The defender, who was a key part of Sam Ricketts' back three that managed back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since October against Doncaster and AFC Wimbledon, turned his ankle during a routine gym session. He was forced out of Town's disappointing 2-1 defeat at fellow relegation battlers Rochdale yesterday as Town await the news from his scan. Ricketts revealed the injury came as a blow to his side after they had found a defensive formula that had kept opposition at bay. The injury looks likely to keep out the Shrews stopped for at least Tuesday's long trip to Plymouth. The Town boss said: "It's really disappointing. A freak accident in the gym doing some gym work, he went over on his ankle. "We sent him for a scan and he wasn't going to make (Rochdale). Hopefully it's not too bad. "It's a real disappointment because we've come off the back of two clean sheets and a settled back line, unfortunately we had to change it through what was a freak injury. "It's a bitter one to take after forming a good back three. I hope it's not long-term, we're waiting to see on the scan." Omar Beckles came ....
